Kōrero mō te tūranga About the role

As a Senior Adviser you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless communication between the Ministry and Ministers offices. Youll lead the development of high-quality ministerial products including briefings Cabinet papers speeches and responses to parliamentary questions and Official Information Act requests. This role also leads the Annual Review and Estimates processes for the Ministry.

As a trusted adviser to senior leaders youll play a vital role in cross-agency collaboration and embedding best practice across the system.

To be considered for this position you must be a current New Zealand Citizenandable to obtain and maintain a NZ Government National Security Clearance at Confidential level. Youre a confident communicator with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive mindset. You bring political nous sound judgement a solutions-focused approach

You thrive in fast-paced environments build strong relationships with ease and are known for your ability to influence and lead with credibility.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in drafting high quality responses to official correspondence and ministerial requests
  • Exceptional writing skills including plain English and audience-specific communication with a sharp eye for detail
  • Ability to coach others in writing and document standards
  • Solid understanding of parliamentary and government processes
  • Experience advising and engaging with senior leaders managers and officials in Ministers offices
