We are looking for an energetic self-motivated individual to join our team of highly skilled Cloud Engineers; who are dedicated accelerating the adoption of cloud across Manulife.
Office location: Waterloo - Canada or Toronto - Canada
Work arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in Office and 2 days from Home.
Remote working option is not available.
Position Responsibilities:
As part of our team you would be contributing to community driven projects which is focused on removing road-blocks and empowering teams - developing solutions which accelerate cloud implementations simplify adherence to security standards and promote best practices.
Required Qualifications:
The cloud is an ever-changing landscape of technologies - as such we are not looking for a specific set of qualifications but a successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong background in cloud automation (ideally aligned with an Infrastructure as Code mindset) and would likely be able to demonstrate most (if not all) of the following:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Technology or relevant field.
Overall 5 year experience in IT
2-5 years of experience architecting scalable distributed systems.
2 years of experience in Cloud (Public Private and/or Hybrid)
A general understanding of cloud technologies with hands on experience provisioning cloud infrastructure components (preferably PaaS components).
Experience with deployment automation CI/CD pipelines and/or DevOps technologies (i.e. Jenkins Pipelines Azure DevOps Git Actions etc.).
A desire to extend your understanding of cloud and the ability to learn through experimentation.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and/or scripted infrastructure deployments (Terraform experience preferred).
Experience developing modern applications in at least one programming language (Java Go Java script etc.)
Experience collaborating on and/or managing code in a source code versioning system (Git BitBucket etc.)
A proactive solutions-focused collaborative approach to problem solving.
A customer focused mindset and a genuine desire to contribute to a community based project.
While not necessarily required a sense of humor is always a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience from large complex environment is a definite plus but not a must have

Salary range is expected to be between
$75880.00 CAD - $140920.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location please contact for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
