At the heart of the region Nelson City Council is a Unitary Authority responsible for providing key infrastructure community facilities and services economic development and a range of regulatory functions including land use and natural resource management. Council is always striving to deliver an even better service and a sustainable regional future for its vibrant community.

Nelson City Council is seeking a skilled Resource Consents Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support in the processing and issuing of resource consents including subdivision administration.

About this role Kō tēnei tūranga mahi

In this position you will:

  • Maintain accurate records of resource consents within Council systems
  • Manage invoicing development contributions and debtors administration
  • Prepare reports warrants of appointment and information for customers and consultants
  • Provide general administrative support to the Consents & Compliance team and the wider organisation

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Extensive administrative experience with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • An understanding of or willingness to develop knowledge of the resource consent process and Council operations.
