Your Role

Do you love connecting with people and building community partnerships Want to help make a practical difference in peoples lives As a NILs Outreach Officer youll be out in the community promoting the No Interest Loans Scheme (NILs) a program that gives people on low incomes access to safe fair and affordable credit. Youll spread the word build referral networks and support clients directly to apply for NILs loans that help them cover essential expenses without fees charges or interest. This is 0.8 FTE 6 month contract opportunity.

Your Responsibility

  • Build strong relationships with local services and networks to increase NILs referrals especially for women in the Illawarra.
  • Promote the program through outreach activities events and community partnerships.
  • Respond to client enquiries and guide them through the loan application process.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure client confidentiality.
  • Support the recruitment and coordination of Vinnies volunteers to deliver client support services.

You Will Need

  • Strong people skills being approachable a great listener and confident working with diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Confidence building community relationships and promoting programs.
  • Certificate-level qualification relevant experience or current tertiary studies in a related field.
  • A current drivers licence (and willingness to undergo WWCC and Police Check).
