Job Summary

Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs facilities-related functions including but not limited to repairs and maintenance on various systems electrical repairs and/or building construction tasks at various locations.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Completes all maintenance requests in an accurate and expeditious manner. Coordinates activities daily with supervisor.

  • Keeps maintenance shop neat and clean.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on interior of building; painting electrical plumbing repair A/C coil/filters smoke detectors flush hot water heaters irrigation checks electrical checks and roof repairs.

  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets unclogging of drains trenching and laying new lines replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices etc.).

  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts checks fluid levels replaces filters greases bearings seals etc. Repairs or replaces broken parts.

  • Operates maintenance equipment including but not limited to hand tools power tools etc.

  • Maintain logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used.

  • Uses the KACE ticket management system in order to open update and close work orders.

  • Works with Supervisor to ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with all local state and federal and other regulations.

  • Makes periodic checks and inspections of equipment controls and installations as a matter of preventive maintenance.

  • Replaces and repairs light fixtures light bulbs fluorescent tubes lamps and ballasts.

  • Assists with the installation and repair of Bank equipment including security and communication equipment.

  • Reconfigures installs positions and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture wall panels work surfaces storage bins lighting file cabinets etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand power and specialty tools dollies and hand trucks.

  • Cleans and picks up litter from and around buildings and grounds.

  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.

  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations decrease turnaround times streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality building services.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of related field experience in commercial/industrial building operations maintenance including in electrical plumbing and light carpentry etc.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a satisfactory manner.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.

  • Must be willing to work weekends and after normal business hours as necessary.

  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required.

  • Must be knowledgeable in the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to building repair/maintenance work.

  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions short correspondence and memos.

  • Ability to compose simple correspondence.

  • Ability to successfully communicate and to establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted during the course of work.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to problems.

  • Must be able to handle tools and operate machinery in a safe manner inspecting detecting and identifying areas requiring maintenance and making the necessary repairs and adjustments needed.

  • Experience operating computer to obtain service tickets and maintenance records.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
