Position Overview
The Director of Events Volunteers and Corporate Relations is responsible for the execution of all fundraising events in addition to overseeing the solicitation & stewardship of volunteers and corporate donors. The Director of EVC is responsible for corporate fundraising through cultivation of key corporate decision makers maintenance ofexisting relationships with corporate partners and writing proposals and progress reports. The Director of EVC leads the relationships and logistics associated with implementing the agencys volunteer program. The Director of EVC owns and leads the growth and concept creation of volunteer engagement activities that align identified needs of the organization with the skills and interests of our volunteers. The Director of EVC has a passion for our mission strong emotional intelligence excellent writing and interpersonal skills corporate connections project planning experience and an entrepreneurial energetic and positive spirit. Finally the Director manages the Gala Committee and attends meetings of the Emerging Leaders Board.
The Director of Events Volunteers and Corporate Relations reports to the Vice President of Agency Advancement. The position requires some evening and weekend work about ten times annually. This is a full-time hybrid (two days in office in Jamaica Plain) exempt position.
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the duties and responsibilities that will be required of the position but additional responsibilities may be required. Employees are expected to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
Essential Functions & Qualifications
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all IHC fundraising events and serve as liaison to all third-party events
- Exercise strong attention to detail collaboration skills with vendors negotiation tactics and organization of project timelines
- Manage the Gala Task Force and subcommittees to ensure event raises at least $500000
- Manage all individual and group volunteers
- Initiate new corporate relationships while maintaining strong positive relationships with existing corporate supporters
- Solicit corporate sponsorships for all events
- Provide tours to all volunteers and corporate supporters
- Collaborate with program leaders to discover and inquire about volunteer and funding needs then articulate the need and impact in a compelling and sophisticated manner ensuring integrity in all writing and budget composition.
- Collaborate and support the efforts of other Development Team members and their initiatives
- Contribute to agency values proposition/case for support materials and content
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- 2-4 years of relative work experience with nonprofit fundraising
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to the Agencys business development and fundraising practices
- History of managing volunteers
- Proficiency with databases Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience representing an organization to external audiences
- Demonstrated fundraising success
- Proven track record of soliciting and developing successful partnerships with other companies
- Creative independent and strategic thinker
- Strong emotional intelligence
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communications skills and a team player
- Strength in managing multiple tasks thinking and planning systemically
- Follow up and follow through on tasks able to prioritize
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Must be receptive and responsive to supervision and professional development demonstrated ability to accept and give critical feedback
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. (event supplies)
- A strong and positive representative of the agency in the community
- Maintain strictest confidentiality regarding clients and employees; adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
- Evidence of sensitivity and respect for clients culture and socioeconomic characteristics

The expected annual base salary for this role is between $75000-$100000 USD dependent on experience. This number does not reflect additional compensation-related benefits such as PTO medical and life insurance EAP and the Italian Home for Children 403(b) retirement plan.
