ABOUT US
TheMaxwell Underground Mine owned byMalabar Resources Ltdhas commenced construction with production planned of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life the underground mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.
As an Apprentice of the Maxwell Underground Mine you will enjoy the excitement and challenge of developing experience and knowledge to contribute to building an operation that is better safer and more productive.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Opportunities are now open for Maxwell Underground Mines 2026 Electrical and Mechanical first year Apprentices. Reporting to the Senior Mechanical and Senior Electrical Engineers the ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude hands-on approach and be prepared to effectively contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
If you are the successful applicants you will:
- Develop your knowledge and experience as a tradesperson by completing all aspects of formal and inform training associated with the Apprenticeship.
- Apply learnt knowledge and skills gained through training to enhance reliability serviceability and availability of mining equipment in the longwall development and outbye process areas.
- Actively contribute to a safe work environment though hazard identification incident reporting and housekeeping.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Engineering Team by developing into a high performing tradesman.
ABOUT YOU
- Completion of schooling to Year 10 or equivalent
- Sound computer and communication skills
- A genuine interest in a Mechanical or Electrical Trade
- Successful completion of a Certificate II Pre-Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical would be advantageous.
