The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will lead the design coordination and execution of hospitality interior design projects from concept through completion. This role requires exceptional leadership skills deep knowledge of hospitality design standards and the ability to balance creative vision with technical precision budget discipline and client expectations. This position requires strong leadership skills a collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering outstanding design solutions.
Project Leadership
Serve as the primary client contact and project lead on multiple hospitality projects ensuring design excellence and successful delivery.
Define project scope schedule and budget in collaboration with leadership and clients.
Facilitate all phases of design: concept schematic design design development construction documentation and construction administration.
Design Management
Guide and inspire the project team providing clear creative direction while ensuring adherence to brand and operational requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams external consultants vendors and contractors to achieve project goals.
Oversee selection and specification of FF&E finishes and materials aligned with the design intent and budget.
Technical & Financial Oversight
Ensure quality and accuracy of drawings schedules and specifications.
Manage project budgets monitor costs and identify value-engineering opportunities when needed.
Track and maintain project schedules anticipating and resolving potential delays.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Lead client presentations and progress meetings.
Build and maintain strong client relationships ensuring repeat business and positive referrals.
Coordinate with hotel brand representatives to ensure compliance with brand standards.
Mentorship & Team Development
Mentor junior designers and project managers fostering a collaborative high-performance studio culture.
Share best practices and support the growth of The Gettys Groups design process and reputation.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Interior Design Architecture or related field (NCIDQ certification preferred).
10 years of professional interior design experience with a minimum of 5 years in a project management role ideally in hospitality.
Proven experience managing luxury and/or branded hotel projects from concept through installation.
Strong knowledge of hospitality design trends operational requirements and brand standards.
Expertise in project budgeting scheduling and contract administration.
Proficiency AutoCAD Adobe Creative Suite Microsoft Office and Deltek Vantagepoint (preferred).
Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel for site visits client meetings and installations as required.
