About the area

The Office of Research is responsible for formulating and providing policy advice and for developing and implementing procedures to effectively coordinate and administer externally and internally funded research activities which enhance the Universitys research reputation. The Research Operations Team is responsible for the procurement and administration of internally and externally funded research grants contracts and postdoctoral research fellowships.

About the opportunity

  • Youll work collaboratively within a team to support the administration of research grants contracts and fellowships contributing to the smooth delivery of research funding.
  • The role allows you to take ownership of reviewing and negotiating research agreements ensuring they align with institutional requirements and funding conditions.
  • Youll engage with stakeholders across the University including the legal office to manage agreements and support research outcomes effectively.

About you

  • Relevant degree qualification in law or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Substantial and extensive relevant senior administrative experience in research grants at an appropriate level.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in negotiating and coordinating complex contract management and administration including drafting negotiating reviewing and administration of research contracts with significant stakeholders including the Commonwealth Government industry partners and other research institutions.
  • Substantial project management skills combined with highly developed conceptual analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the legal aspects of intellectual property risk management principles and compliance requirements for major grant funding bodies including the ARC and NHMRC.
