Strengthening Families Co-ordinator
Part Time permanent position (24 hours per week)
Thames-Coromandel and Hauraki Districts
The Strengthening Families process connects whānau who require assistance from more than one agency or community service. The Strengthening Families Coordinator coordinates and facilitates a whānau centric approach bringing people together to jointly develop a plan that focused on improving the health education and social outcomes the whānau want for their tamariki and themselves. This role requires you to be a confident facilitator with a non-judgemental solution focused attitude. You will thrive on connecting people to a common plan and purpose. You will be a person who is prepared to go the extra mile to help others reach their goals and who lives the values of Love Hope and Energy that underpin everything that happens within CAPS.
You will work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team who work together providing each other with the support required to undertake this challenging and rewarding work.
Skills you would require to be successful in this role:
- Ideally you will have a Social Work Qualification and Social Work Registration
- Facilitation skills that focus complex discussion around the achievement of identified outcomes
- Ability to provide support and training to other professionals around the Strengthening Families Facilitation process
- Experience of working alongside children young people adults family and whānau
- Commitment to bi-cultural practice and sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how this applies to and guides social work practice and interventions
- An understanding of the impacts of family violence sexual violence and other forms of abuse
- Excellent listening communication and relationship/rapport building skills
- Comfortable with working on your own as well as part of a team
- The ability to demonstrate initiative good judgement and flexibility
- Excellent time management and organisational skill
- Have a proven record of maintaining confidentiality and working within the ethical parameters of the social work registration board
- The ability to utilise I.T. systems including a web based data base
- The ability to maintain appropriate client records and provide reports as required
- A full and clean Drivers License
- This position is classed as a Core Worker and will need to pass a safety check inclusive of Police Vetting under the Childrens Act 2014
