Perform Facility Maintenance and Repairs: Inspect maintain and repair the facility and its equipment using basic and specialized tools. This includes plumbing electrical switches and appliances heating ventilation units and general building fixtures to ensure the property meets established standards.
Conduct Routine Inspections and Monitoring: Regularly inspect the facility to ensure operational readiness and cleanliness.
Manage Deliveries and Inventory: Receive inspect inventory and distribute deliveries to the appropriate departments or individuals.
Maintain Facility Security: Ensure the security of the facility equipment supplies and personal contents through responsible management of keys and access controls.
Coordinate External Services: Contract with and assist outside service providers (trades crafts vendors technical staff) and campus facilities for maintenance construction design and operational needs that are beyond the scope of in-house responsibilities or abilities.
Ensure University Compliance: Partner with campus facilities staff as needed to ensure adherence to university policies and standards.
Serve as Emergency Contact: Act as the primary point of contact during building emergencies taking appropriate steps to mitigate the situation which may include returning to the facility after hours or on weekends.

The School of Continuing Education (SCE) is the largest provider of professional development in Southeastern Wisconsin providing year-round lifelong learning through varied venues in our state-of-the-art classrooms in downtown Milwaukee onsite at business locations online and other unique locations.
Under general supervision the Facilities Coordinator independently maintains the physical facility and all state-owned equipment within the School of Continuing Educations (SCE) downtown Milwaukee location. This includes over 75 offices 17 conference rooms seven pairs of restrooms and five mechanical rooms on the 6th and 7th floors of the John Plankinton Building. The Facility Coordinator must understand the relationship between a properly maintained physical environment/equipment and faculty-staff-student needs including safety productivity learning and comfort. The Facility Coordinator is expected to carry out all of the duties of this position independently with minimal supervision. The standard hours are Monday-Friday 6:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with occasional evening and weekend work and serving as the first point of contact for building emergencies.
Three years facilities experience including inspection maintenance and/or repair of building mechanical electrical and plumbing systems.
Experience with common software and applications (e.g. MS Office Suite email etc.).
Proficient and trained in proper safety methods for use and maintenance of power equipment and tools commonly used in building repair and remodeling (i.e. drills rotor hammers sanders saws etc.).
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
Availability to work on weekends or after business hours as necessary.
A valid drivers license.
Prior responsibility for maintaining a small to mid-sized facility.
Specific software Workday Shop UW Plus Project Management software and/or other purchasing/bid software.
Experience with HVAC systems.
Construction or facility trades experience.
Ability to read interpret and comprehend blueprints for building maintenance and construction.
Working knowledge of OSHA and State of Wisconsin safety regulations.
Related certification(s) or coursework in Facilities management and/or Engineering HVAC or similar.
