The Department of History at the University of North Alabama invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of 19th/20th century Britain with a subfield in African or Asian history to begin in August of 2026. The ability to contribute to digital humanities is preferred. Teaching responsibilities will include survey courses in world history British history as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidates area of specialty. Review of applicants will begin on November 1 2025 and continue until the position has been filled.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching an active research agenda and commitment to the campus community. The standard teaching load is 4/4.
A Ph.D. in History at the time of appointment is required.
