College Intern - Governors Office of Appalachia
The Governors Office of Appalachia within the Ohio Department of Developmentis presently hiring for aCollege Internwho is interested in the Ohio Appalachian region can work independently maintain data can manage several projects at once and can work collaboratively with team members and the community.
What youll be doing:
Research issues of importance to the Appalachian region and report to the Program Manager and Director of the Governors Office of Appalachia.
Interact with local state and federal government agencies for the purposes of project review research and constituent case work.
Gather organize and audit data and enter information into various databases while ensuring the validly and accuracy of data.
Schedule appointments and arrange appearances for the Program Manager and Director as well as work with members of the Communications Office on talking points and summaries of major issues and assist with speechwriting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be enrolled at an accredited college/university with a focus in either Public/Business Administration Urban Planning Social Work Communications or Political Science.
Demonstrate understanding of or familiarity with the Ohio Appalachian region preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with both internal staff and external clients.
Ability to analyze data including researching and organizing large amount of data into reports.
Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using Microsoft products (e.g. Work Outlook PowerPoint Excel).
