Job Description Summary

Legal Counsel supporting legal and compliance functions: This role involves drafting and negotiating high-value commercial contracts across APAC managing legal risks claims and compliance programs. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external counsel as well as support legal training and template development.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

From a legal risk and compliance perspective:

Commercial transactions: (i) Draft review and negotiate a wide range of high-value contracts (including engineering and supply agreements long-term service agreements operation & maintenance agreements) across diverse APAC jurisdictions; (ii) partner with cross functional teams including sales commercial operations sourcing finance and project management teams to manage and mitigate risks.

Claims and Disputes: Support project teams in managing contractual claims and disputes; engage and coordinate with local external counsel when necessary under the direction of the APAC Lead Counsel. Compliance & Risk Management: Collaborate with APAC Lead Counsel and regulatory and compliance functions to deploy compliance programs and training across APAC. Training & Education: Undertake legal research and prepare training materials Templates: Support the development of legal standard templates.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in law from an accredited law school. Bar Membership: Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one APAC jurisdiction. Experience: 4 years of legal experience Language: Proficiency and command of English language is a must . Knowledge of another language (Mandarin/Korean etc) is a plus

Preferred Experience & Characteristics:

Experience in law firm Exposure to cross-border legal matters in the industrial or energy sector Familiarity with legal frameworks across key APAC markets (e.g. India Australia Singapore China). Experience with Australian law and legal systems is a plus Strong contract and regulatory expertise in industrial equipment manufacturing engineering and large-scale project execution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse cultural and legal contexts. Collaborative team player with a global mindset and cultural sensitivity. Agile and adaptable with a proactive approach to navigating dynamic regulatory environments. Passionate about continuous improvement development and supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced diverse region. Must be familiar with implementation and adoption of legal operation tools and technology

Travel: 30% within region
