Job Description

  • Advise on employment matters including disciplinary actions termination procedures and legal compliance.
  • Draft review and negotiate employment contracts policies and handbooks to ensure they are legally sound and aligned with the companys business objectives.
  • Research and stay updated on changes in Malaysias employment laws and regulations to ensure the companys policies and practices remain current and compliant.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to develop and implement best practices for employee relations and talent management ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Represent the company in employment-related litigation mediation and arbitration proceedings when necessary.
  • Manage and oversee employment-related litigation including representing the company in court or administrative proceedings and working with external counsel as needed.
  • Conduct training sessions for management and HR staff on employment law compliance and best practices.

Qualifications :

  • LLB or JD degree from a recognized institution with admission to the Malaysian Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing employment law in Malaysia preferably with exposure to corporate environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysias Employment Act and other relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in conducting domestic inquiries handling termination procedures and resolving industrial relations disputes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical legal advice in a corporate context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive employment matters.
