Job Description
The Senior Data Analyst under general supervision provides overall direction and management for the gathering compiling analyzing interpreting and reporting of data. Designs data modeling/analysis services to mine systems and applications builds deploys and maintains data support tools metadata inventories and definitions for database file/table creation.
The successful candidate must be able to perform the duties of this position primarily on-site/on campus.
The expected salary for this position is $55000.00-$57000.00 annually.
The expected hire date for this position is 10/15/2025

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collects analyzes interprets and visualizes quantitative and qualitative data using accepted statistical and research methods.
- Designs develops and maintains data models reports dashboards and visualizations to support decision-making across the university.
- Writes tests and optimizes SQL queries and other data extraction methods for complex reporting needs.
- Develops and maintains databases and spreadsheets for specialized projects; ensures accuracy consistency and data quality.
- Identifies data integrity issues performs root cause analysis and implements corrective measures.
- Documents methodologies code and results to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
- Responds to ad-hoc requests for information and prepares reports in multiple formats tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Provides training guidance and technical support to faculty staff and administrators on data systems tools and best practices.
- Serves as a liaison between institutional stakeholders and IT/data teams to clarify data requirements and ensure effective use of information resources.
- Prepares maintains and presents historical and comparative datasets ensuring alignment with institutional and regulatory reporting requirements.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of related experience in data collection and analysis and using data management information systems.
- Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in computer science MIS or related field.
- Experience with business intelligence software Business Objects and/or Power BI.
- Five or more years experience scripting SQL or similar programming background.
- Knowledge in institutional research and faculty/student data.
- Previous experience with higher education and ERP software systems such as Banner or PeopleSoft.
Other Requirements
- Experience using tools like Git Teams etc. for version control and collaboration with other team members.
- Experience using cloud platforms preferably Microsoft Azure
- Experience working with Student Information Systems (SIS) SQL and data visualization tools.
- Ability to write moderate to complex queries in SQL or WebFOCUS programming language.
- Ability to run analyze and extract data using statistical analysis tools like SPSS SAS STATA Python or similar software
- Ability to analyze extract and present insights from large datasets.
- Solid understanding of database design data management systems and data warehouse/data mart concepts.
- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
