| Job Title:Data Center Manager |
| Schedule: 8-hour workdays with a 1-hour unpaid meal break Location: Long Island City NY (fully onsite) Travel: Required to multiple sites within NYC and sometimes NJ Summary of Position: - We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled and experiencedData Center Managerto lead the critical operations of our data center infrastructure.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability security and efficiency of our data systems which are vital to our public health mission.
Job Duties: - Oversee all daily operations of the data center including servers networking equipment storage systems and power/cooling infrastructure.
- Ensure the physical and operational integrity of the data center. Implement robust security protocols manage access controls and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and execute long-term strategies for data center capacity planning upgrades and modernization. This includes evaluating new technologies like cloud integration and virtualization.
- Create implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to guarantee data availability and minimize downtime in the event of an emergency.
- Manage the data center budget including capital and operational expenses. Liaise with vendors and contractors to ensure optimal performance and cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor system performance troubleshoot technical issues and perform regular audits to maintain high availability and efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Strongknowledge of server hardware operating systems and network infrastructure including cabling protocols and security.
- Familiarity withdata security disaster recovery protocols and regulatory compliance
- Understanding ofpower distribution backup systems (UPS) and cooling infrastructure.
- Experience in planning executing and managing IT projects including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Education and Experience: - A bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience indata center management with a proven track record of managing complex IT infrastructure.
