Job Duties
The successful candidate will focus on identifying and bringing civil actions alleging violations of the Virginia Human Rights Act that involve pattern or practice of discrimination or raise an issue of general public importance in employment places of public accommodation including educational institutions policing and other areas covered by the VHRA. The position will also cover enforcement of the Virginia Voting Rights Law. The position requires the ability to conduct complex civil litigation in state circuit courts involving subject matter jurisdiction adequacy and admissibility of evidence proper application of judicial precedent and the rules of civil procedure. The candidate will work closely with a team of attorneys paralegal and investigators and will assist with the remainder of OCRs portfolio which includes enforcing Virginias fair housing laws. This position is located in the Richmond Virginia office.
