About the role

The Registration Monitoring & Procurement Team ensures secure and reliable energy delivery to the WEM by overseeing the registration and connection of new facilities to the SWIS managing functions of Year 3 and 4 of the Reserve Capacity Cycle and leading the procurement of new energy and other market services outside of the annual Certified Reserve Capacity process.

You will coordinate and undertake the WEM registration processes and work with other internal AEMO teams and Western Power to facilitate timely end-to-end connection of new Facilities. You will also focus on identifying and implementing improvements for the WEM registration monitoring and procurement processes.

What you will be doing

  • Work with Market Participants Western Power and internal AEMO teams to register new facilities assess facilities Reserve Capacity Tests and other Year 3 & 4 obligations under the Reserve Capacity Mechanism focusing on analysing and managing data related to registrations and related activities.
  • Conduct processes in line with Electricity System and Market Rules WEM Procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Lead and manage changes to processes systems and documentation as a result of regulatory changes or business improvement activities. This includes acting as the product owner representative for any software changes.
  • Lead data analysis and develop high quality written documents or presentations to communicate findings or actions to various audiences.
  • Communicate and influence technical or regulatory issues by clearly concisely and effectively communicating with key stakeholders to help build effective stakeholder relationships. This includes contributing to external stakeholder forums and engagements with key external agencies.

What you will bring to the role

  • Degree qualified in economics computing commerce engineering science or a related discipline.
  • Strong Industry experience in the energy/electricity sector in a complex technical legal and commercial or regulatory environments ideally with an understanding of WEM rules and procedures.
  • Ability to lead strategic projects/initiatives driving analysis option development stakeholder engagement rule development and implementation.
  • Well-developed presentation networking communication and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence outcomes.
  • Ability to work autonomously drive and lead the identification analysis definition and implementation of complex challenging rule process and system changes that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of systems and processes.
