Job Summary
Job Description: The Middle School Math Teaching Assistant supports classroom instruction and student learning in mathematics for grades 78. The Teaching Assistant works under the supervision of the math teacher to reinforce instruction provide individualized support to students and ensure a safe and productive classroom to: Middle School PrincipalLocation: Warren Campus Work Schedule: Full-TimeResponsibilities:Support the implementation of the math curriculum aligned to Rhode Island and national standards through grade classroom routines and support positive behavior to maintain a safe respectful and engaging learning 1:1 and small-group support to students after the math teacher has delivered instruction reinforcing skills and concepts as student understanding and progress offering feedback to the math teacher on areas where students need additional the teacher with preparation of instructional materials classroom organization and technology as students during transitions peer-assisted learning or independent additional duties assigned by the math teacher or school administration to support the learning :High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) requirements for teacher assistants or certified teachers as documented in mathematics standards through grade working with middle school students interpersonal skills patience and the ability to build positive relationships with to work collaboratively with teachers staff and to educational equity and experience working with diverse student populations particularly students of color multilingual learners and students with diverse learning needs
