Employment Type: Full Time - Fixed Term Senior Leader position
This position holds a permanent teaching position within the Cairns Diocese.
Salary Range:$149763 to $157119 FTE gross per annum PLUS 12.75% Superannuation

About the Role
The Assistant Principal Senior Secondary holds a vital role for our students in Years 10 to 12. In our holistic approach the Assistant Principal Senior Secondary is required to be attentive to the pastoral and academic needs of the senior years students and is required to link these needs and to monitor them closely to ensure all students successfully meet our graduate expectations.
The following six domains outline the role of the as it is envisaged in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Cairns. Following each domain is the Statement of Performance Competency followed by Performance Indicators.

- To share in the essential Mission of the Church as a leader within the school Faith community
- EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP
- To support learning and teaching as the Assistant Principal Senior Secondary
- STAFF LEADERSHIP
- To develop self and others as the Assistant Principal Senior Secondary
- ORGANISATIONAL LEADERSHIP
- To support the Principal in the management of the school as the Assistant Principal Senior Secondary
- COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP
- To engage and work with the community as the Assistant Principal Senior Secondary
- STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
- To lead improvement innovation and change as determined by the Principal as the Assistant Principal Senior Secondary
Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements
- Participation in and commitment to the sacramental life of the Church.
- Professional qualifications in Education (Bachelor of Education Master of Education preferred) and Religion as per Queensland Catholic Education Commission Position Statement for Senior Leadership Positions in Catholic Schools in Queensland.
- Leadership experience:
- Demonstrated ability in religious and education leadership.
- Demonstrated administrative ability.
- Demonstrated skills in communication and relationship development.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development including knowledge of contemporary educational issues at state and national levels with particular reference to Religious Education.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Pastoral Care of members of the school community.
- Involvement in professional associations.
- Capacity for leadership within a school.
- Criminal history and bankruptcy check.
- Current drivers licence.
- A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives vision and ethos of Catholic Education.
