We are currently seeking an Assistant Controllerto join our team in Seattle WA.
What will YOU do
The assistant controller is responsible for the integrity of the general ledger and the flows into the general ledger for our not-for-profit organizations including but not limited to internal controls reconciliations accuracy timeliness and consistency of all financial reporting billing expenses tracking allocations grant management support tax compliance and allocations. This position reports to Controller.
Pay Rate:$130000 $142000 per year.
Work Schedule:Monday Through Friday 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly close in compliance with not-for-profit fund accounting including consolidations net assets and release from restriction in compliance with GAAP FASB Uniform Guidance and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepares Cash Forecast and liquidity projections.
- Continuous process improvement spotting and solution orientation.
- Proven expertise in audits tax and treasury management. Audit ready every day. Understands the form 990s as well as any federal state county city and funder audit requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger. Ensure timely monthly standalone audit ready reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and important income statement accounts that flows to the functional statement as well as the statement of Expenditures of Federal Assistance.
- Analyze complex financial and statistical data and determine their significance: prepare comprehensive narrative and visual statements supporting complex financial reports.
- Maintain accounting system(s) for the development and reporting of the organizations fund accounting indirect cost allocations and expenditures.
- Function as a technical expert to the organization in accounting policies and procedures. Maintain Accounting policies and guidelines. Build financial fluency at all levels of the organization.
- Maintain legal and contractual compliance. Understands grant administration.
- Analyze GAAP and Uniform Guidance standards impact on the financial data and recommend operational changes as required.
- Develop a collaborative and effective team in a healthy work environment. Supervise train and evaluate assigned employees.
- Approve transactions and journals.
- Represent program/department to internal and external audiences.
- Supervisory Responsibility:This position supervises staff accountant expense management and procurement assigned staff
- Relationships: Develop and maintain good relationships with cross-functional teams staff volunteers and people utilizing the same facilities and the public.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
- Four (4) years professional accounting experience with at least three (3) years of management experience.
- Four (4) years experience working with financial budget expense management software preferably NetSuite Intacct MIP Ramp Expensify.
- CPA preferred.
