Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
- Assist in preoperative and postoperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results
- Educate patients and families about procedures and recovery
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or related field
- Current NP or PA license in the state of Washington
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or relevant clinical settings
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement
Schedule: Monday-Friday typically 7a-3p
Weekday and 1:4 weekend call rotation
Setting: Inpatient
Daily Volume: 20 per day
Case Volume: 6-8 hearts and 9-12 thoracic cases per week
Duties: Pre- and post-operative patient evaluation and treatment OR first-assist for CT surgical cases ICU and step-down management daily rounding discharge summaries etc.
Support Staff: 5 surgeons 4 mid-levels RN
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
