Job Description
Job Title: Power BI Admin
Location: Houston TX (4 days onsite)
Job type: Fulltime opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Administration & Engineering
Administer and maintain BI platforms: Power BI Tableau Sigma and Spotfire.
Ensure platform reliability scalability and performance through proactive monitoring and optimization.
Perform regular patching upgrades and maintenance of BI servers and services.
Implement and manage disaster recovery backup and failover strategies.
Development & Support Enablement
Support BI developers and analysts with report publishing data source integration and performance tuning.
Maintain development test and production environments with proper change control and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Security & Access Management
Manage user provisioning role-based access controls and group policies across BI platforms.
Monitor usage and access logs to ensure compliance with enterprise security and data governance standards.
Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to implement platform-level security controls.
Infrastructure & Automation
Support hybrid infrastructure including Azure AWS and on-premise Windows/Linux servers.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for tasks such as user onboarding report deployment and system health checks.
Integrate BI platforms with enterprise tools (e.g. CI/CD pipelines monitoring systems).
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
5 years of experience administering and supporting BI platforms including Power BI Tableau Sigma and Spotfire.
Experience working in environments where Snowflake is used as a data platform.
Strong understanding of server architecture cloud services and networking fundamentals.
Experience with patch management system upgrades and performance tuning.
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell Python Bash) for automation and maintenance.
Preferred:
Exposure to Qlik Replicate and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes.
Certifications in Power BI Tableau Snowflake Azure or AWS.
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk Dynatrace).
Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g. GDPR HIPAA).
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
