Responsibilities
Position Summary
- Primarily works and provides education to Family Practice Residents and nurse practitioners.
- Reviews request for required tests or documentation prior to obtaining authorization.
- Assures that the request is for a contracted facility or provider. Obtain authorization and schedule patient.
- Performs other clerical duties to support of the unit such as ordering supplies statistics report preparation and other functions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Understand medical records and schedule appointments in a more complex outpatient setting.
- Knowledge and ability to assure appropriate use of CPT and ICD codes.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience.
