ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic passionate and experienced Digital Services Librarian to work closely with the Head of Library and Information Services the Head of ICT Innovation and Learning and the Library Department staff members. This role will be responsible for promoting digital literacy initiatives managing digital resources and curriculum materials overseeing the Library Management System and managing the student booklist process.

This presents an excellent opportunity to combine your administrative and digital skills while engaging in a professional and engaging manner with students staff and families.

This is a full-time term time only ongoing role commencing in January of 2026 with the opportunity to start earlier to facilitate a handover in a progressive supportive and well-resourced team environment.

The areas of responsibility for the role include:

  • Develop implement and improve the Digital Literacy Framework
  • Manage the Library Management System
  • Promote digital literacy resources and services
  • Assist in the development of digital inclusion initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of digital media and research databases
  • Manage and promote digital content and resources such as eBooks eAudiobooks databases and subscriptions
  • Manage and publish curriculum materials
  • Oversee the student booklist process
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot issues for students staff and families
  • Research and recommend new e-resources

ABOUT YOU

Ideally you have experience in a similar role and are self-motivated proactive and energetic. You thrive in a collaborative team-focused environment and you bring exceptional customer service strong digital literacy and excellent cataloguing and IT skills.

You will also have:

  • Experience in Library systems digital design websites and emerging technologies
  • Experience in source cataloguing in all formats including print and digital
  • Outstanding administration skills with an eye for detail
  • Familiarity with Oliver Library Management System (LMS) and Schools Catalogue Information Service (SCIS) would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a friendly and enthusiastic team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Library or Information Studies
  • Specific training in IT / Digital Information Management
  • Eligible for membership to the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Crime Check
