Job Description

Status: Full Time - Benefit Eligible

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Hybrid: 2 days onsite 3 days remote)

*1 of the 2 days onsite will be an evening shift 12pm - 8pm

Summit Health is seeking aBehavioral Health Therapistto join ourHigh Acuity programwithin the Behavioral Health & Cognitive Therapy Center. This is a unique opportunity to deliver evidence-based care work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and receive specialized training inCognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

About the Role
  • Provide high-acuity therapy for adults requiring more intensive treatment (minimum 2x/week for 46 weeks).
  • Focus on stabilization and skill development to reduce the need for higher levels of care (e.g. IOP).
  • Transition patients into our structured10-session step-down CBT program.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatry (weekly treatment coordination).
  • Contribute toprogram outcomes analysis and reporting.

Requirements
  • Education: Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work Counseling or Psychology.
  • Licensed inNew Jersey(PhD PsyD LCSW LPC). NY licensure a plus.
  • 3 years experienceworking in outpatient adult populations (18).
  • Familiarity withmedical settingsand co-occurring conditions.
  • Competence in evidence-based therapies (e.g. CBT DBT ACT MI Behavioral Activation).
  • Knowledge ofdiagnostic criteriaand community resources.
  • Comfort treating patients requiringimmediate structured carebut not yet at IOP or crisis levels.
  • Program management experience a plus.

Position Summary: Provides short-term intensive psychotherapeutic services including individual and group treatment to the patients of the Summit Health and surrounding communities.

Essential Job functions:

  • Provides individual or group treatment in the High Acuity Program.
  • Treats adults or geriatrics.
  • Performs crisis intervention.
  • Performs accurate patient evaluations and diagnoses.
  • Makes appropriate treatment recommendations to the High Acuity program.
  • Manages referrals to higher levels of care as needed.
  • Sets clear and specific treatment goals.
  • Researches and employs evidence-based solution-focused treatments.
  • Demonstrates effective patient communication including empathy collaboration and patient education.
  • Completes accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Demonstrates effective treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Works collaboratively with referring physicians psychiatry other clinicians and care navigators.
  • Informs providers about program requirements and appropriate referrals.
  • Engages in projects and the development of additional treatment programs as requested.
  • Provides educational programs as requested.
  • Creates reports on associated program statistics.
  • Adheres to the ethics of their profession and the regulations of the NJ State Board of Examiners.
  • Productivity maintains established average weekly patient sessions.
  • Length of stay maintains established average length of stay.
  • Accepts and utilizes clinical feedback provided in clinical and peer supervision.

Pay Range: $65770.00 - $82202.00

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
