Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Foundation Director of Finance with the day-to-day financial operations of the Foundation. This includes preparing payments to vendors and distributing those checks monitoring the daily cash transactions between gift receipting and the daily bank information preparing monthly reports to the campus community and preparing journal entries. This position is responsible for accumulating all the Foundations financial transactions from the Universities system reconciling this information and recording to the Foundation system.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices sufficient to analyze interpret and prepare financial information records and reports.
Ability to interpret and explain accounting and related fiscal policies procedures and practices to customers.
Ability to develop prepare and explain clear concise reconciliations and fiscal reports.
Knowledge of standard computer software programs for e-mail word processing spreadsheets and databases sufficient to create modify and protect files.
Skills in word processing sufficient to prepare edit and finalize emails memos reports and /or other documents and types of written communication that are grammatically correct in proper format and free of spelling errors.
Knowledge of communications sufficient to fluently communicate read understand and respond to a variety of communications such as customers questions requisitions purchase orders detailed instructions and procedures and distribution lists.

Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Knowledge of Workday accounting system
Experience with Non-profit organizations including Non-profit organizational accounting software

Work safely at all times which includes but is not limited to participating and completing all required safety trainings as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools equipment and personal protective equipment.
