The opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Forehearth Supervisor to join our team at Visy Glass Penrose Auckland. The primary purpose of the role is for the full temperature conditioning of the molten Glass in its liquidus state throughout the Forehearth as well as the manual shaping of the glass gobs as they are forced out through the O-ring and cut into the desired gob shape and weight. Once the molten glass has been conditioned correctly and the gob has been cut into its final shape and delivered down the delivery trough it can then be blown into a formed container.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Operating and optimizing O-I and Emhart forehearth/feeder systems (DFC & MPC).

Managing temperature profiles gob shape and machine parameters for quality output.

Resolving glass defects minimises downtime and ensures fast job changeovers.

Understanding NNPB Blow & Blow and Press & Blow processes.

Driving quality performance and safety compliance across operations.

Achieving KPIs in quality downtime and productivity.

Leading continuous improvement and supporting personnel development.

Collaborating with trainers and teams to enhance hot end capability.

Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with procedures.

Providing operational support and driving improvement initiatives.

What you will bring to the team:

810 years experience in the glass industry with deep expertise in glass forming and blowing processes including Press and Blow and Narrow Neck Press and Blow.

Skilled in conditioning all glass colours and shaping molten gobs for container production.

Proficient in Owens-Illinois and Emhart forehearth systems ensuring optimal machine performance and quality standards.

Trained in glass technology with a focus on conditioning defect identification and correction.

Experienced in training and mentoring team members.
