Job Summary

Job Title:Title I Literacy Tutor

Position Type:Part-time

Location: Lowell Elementary

Hours Per Week:18 hours per week

Rate of Pay:$35.00 per hour

Reports to:K-8 Literacy Coordinator

Summary:

The Title I Tutor will work with classroom teachers to identify students who require substantial intervention in Literacy. The tutor will work with these students primarily in a push-in model for the purpose of small group and targeted assistance aligned with the Literacy curriculum. This is a Part-Time position 18 hours per I Tutorsarea grant-funded position and as such is contingenton theavailabilityof funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Complete the required paperwork for the strategies/interventions as outlined in Title I regulations
  • Work with the principal and classroom teachers to identify potential students for assistance/ intervention using objective criteria
  • Teach multiple small intervention groups.
  • Progress monitor and analyze student data

  • Demonstrated ability to implement interventions in Literacy programs and to provide support to at-risk students
  • Licensure by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an Elementary Teacher
