Our team works closely with students faculty and staff to deliver essential services-from admissions and academic advising to course scheduling exam administration graduation planning policy guidance and reporting-all in support of UNBs academic mission.
WHAT WE OFFER
Full-time 1 year Term Fredericton Campus On-Campus
Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 8:15 am - 4:30 pm 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $25.28 - $29.92 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Associate Registrar Admissions Services this position is responsible for all undergraduate transfer credit at the UNB Fredericton campus. The transfer credit coordinator works closely with faculties and departments to determine appropriate transfer credit for prior education and institutional transfer agreements. It is the responsibility of the Transfer Credit Coordinator to apply Senate-approved policy develop and standardized processes for assessing and to review and process all transfer credit in a timely accurate and fair manner.
Position Summary:
- Review prospective student transcripts for potential transfer credit. This includes determining whether an institution is recognized/accredited and whether courses taken are at a university-level and appropriate for transfer credit.
- Review potential transfer credit with appropriate faculty designate (often faculty advisors or associate deans) and recommend transfer credit based on course descriptions (for some faculties) past credit given for
- same/similar courses credit hours received and final grades.
- Consult with subject-matter experts on course outlines where required (particularly for upper level credit) to determine transferability.
- Develop and maintain a custom database of transfer credit by program (including reporting on past credit).
- Revitalize and maintain UN Bs custom transfer credit lookup online tool for students & faculty to review potential credit from universities across Canada.
- Maintain and process credit for advanced secondary school programs such as International Baccalaureate Advanced Placement CGEP or A-Level examinations.
- Work with Global Learning the Registrar and the faculty units to ensure transfer agreements meet all Senate regulations supporting UN Bs strategic enrollment initiatives.
- Act as a primary contact for student transfer credit inquiries including off-campus studies exchange programs and the awarding of both internal and external transfer credit.
- Assist on special projects for the Registrar or Associate Registrar Admission Services.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Undergraduate Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a post-secondary environment preferably in admissions records advising transfer credits or academic policy.
Additional Strengths:
- Experience working with CRMs and/or Student Information Systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft 0356 including skilled knowledge of Excel and SharePoint.
- Detailed understanding of various North American university transcript standards academic records and course structure Experience working with international admission documents such as transcripts & credential evaluations considered an asset.
- Experience with Ellucian Colleague CRM Recruit Entrinsik Informer and/or Perceptive Content considered an asset.
