Job Summary (List Format) Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Hyannis MA)
- Position: Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist II (RCIS)
- Schedule: 5x8 hour day shifts 12 weeks assignment
- Compensation: Weekly $3800 Stipend $1561
- Location: Hyannis MA
- Start Date: 10/13
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during all invasive procedures (scrubbing circulating monitoring recording hemodynamic parameters).
- Operate and maintain interventional and related equipment/devices.
- Provide care for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Transfer patients safely to and from medical equipment wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Set up and clean sterile trays and procedure areas.
- Assist with administration of contrast media.
- Maintain departmental inventory and ensure adequate supplies.
- Participate in professional development and self-growth activities.
- Responsible for all aspects of Electrophysiology (EP) program (for EP Techs only).
- Stay updated with new developments in EP (for EP Techs only).
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and routine safety checks of interventional equipment.
- Clean and inspect equipment to ensure readiness and safety.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification required.
- Associates degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology OR Associates degree or higher with at least 3 years recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Ability to read write and communicate in English.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Completion of Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) course.
