Job Summary:
This Registered Nurse position in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) requires providing skilled nursing care to critically ill patients with conditions such as sepsis ARDS and multi-organ failure. The nurse will administer medications plan treatments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team maintaining a patient ratio of 1:2 (occasionally 1:1 based on acuity). Experience in managing patients requiring advanced life support interventions (e.g. ECMO Impella) is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care to critically ill patients in a CICU setting.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitoring patients vital signs assessing their condition and documenting findings.
- Developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Managing advanced life support equipment (e.g. ECMO Impella CRRT).
- Collaborating with physicians respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Educating patients and their families about their condition and treatment plan.
- Maintaining accurate and complete patient records.
- Participating in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital setting (ICU experience preferred).
- Proficiency in clinical assessment medication administration and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with advanced life support interventions (e.g. ECMO Impella) preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing.
- Experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
Special Considerations:
- 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (1900-0730).
- Every other weekend rotation required.
- Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- 16-bed unit with high acuity patients.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week (1900-0730).
- Every other weekend rotation.
- Shift assignments are pre-determined.
