Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles to program CMM/vision systems to ensure products meet specifications and drawings.
- Has advanced knowledge on general metrology methods
- Generate reporting to satisfy Customer requirements (AS9102 for example)
- Train and resolve issues and questions from the machine operators and Quality and Manufacturing Engineers as needed.
- Work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that all set-ups and programs are accurate.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers on special projects related to tooling fixtures and gages.
- Identifies and drives cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principle.
- Works closely with the team to determine where attribute gauging might make us more efficient.
- Maintains compliance and executes all internal policies procedures and all related paperwork under ISO/AS9100 guidelines.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 6 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5 years experience with inspection equipment
- 3 years minimum experience advanced CMM programming (Calypso required)
- 3 years minimum experience advanced Vision System programming
- 3 years experience with advanced dimensioning tolerancing and advanced GD & T
- Must be US Citizen
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Mechanical Aptitude. Full working knowledge of machining properties of common metals and alloys. Good mechanical aptitude. Ability to read blue prints. General knowledge of drafting concepts.
Machine Tools and/or Equipment Skills:
CMM operation and programming required (Zeiss/Calypso). Vision system programming skills desired.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Strong ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
