Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a NetOps Programmer to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSAs Digital Modernization one of our high performing teams responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills: Strong knowledge of SMARTS platform including NETOPS Redhat Linux TCP/IP network knowledge Github and bitbucket.

  • Work with advanced technical principles theories and concepts.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Mathematics Engineering or a related field.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
  • 5-7 years of experience with a high-level scripting language such as Python or Perl
  • 5 years of experience or more as a Network Engineer focusing on network performance management.
  • 5 years of experience with SMARTS enterprise network monitoring system with at least 3 years specific to implementation and configuration of SMARTS tool.
  • NetOPS expertise and Broadcom in depth knowledge
  • 4 years of experience with RHEL combine between versions 7 and 8.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Perl and Python advanced scripting skills.
  • In depth hands on experience to program in a Java enterprise (J2EE) environment using platforms such as Java Server Faces v2 (JSF 2) Enterprise Java Beans v3 (EJB 3) Java-based Ajax library.
  • Knowledge/experience/advanced skills on Broadcom Service Assurance (former SMARTS) monitoring tool.
  • Experience working on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
  • TCP/IP networks knowledge.
  • Broadcom NetOps monitoring tools knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • VMWare systems administration
  • MS Visio experience creating Network Diagrams
  • MS Project creating and updating project plans.
  • Ability to produce operational documentation using industry best practices in technical writing.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Perl Python and Java advanced programmer skills.
  • Developing on JBoss EAP environments skills and experience.
  • MySQL database management experience.
  • Knowledge of version control tools like Git or Bitbucket.
  • Experience developing on Service Now is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience growing maintaining problem monitoring and engineer problem resolutions.
  • Experience developing best practice project plans engineering scripts and documentation for network performance management.
  • Prior Federal government experience
  • Self-starter highly motivated individual who adapts and isnt afraid to volunteer in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities
  • Participate in daily scrum and provide updates.

Pay Range $92300.00 - $166850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
