Job Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer
Location: Austin TX 78717
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Responsibilities
- Support the client (VIS) Austin TX site as an electrical engineer for components devices systems software and test system for commercial products product enhancements and new product development.
- Performing electrical design activities including but not limited to component selection circuit design/simulation prototype evaluation unit-level testing lifecycle testing system integration testing drawing/document creation and modification and execution of Engineering Change Orders within SAP for hardware firmware and embedded software components.
- Continuously improving quality by addressing manufacturing and field non-conformities through troubleshooting and root cause analysis with the use of electrical test equipment and custom test sets.
Skills/Attributes:
- Strong electrical design skills with schematic and engineering analysis capabilities.
- Excellent written verbal and organizational skills including maintaining thorough and accurate engineering documentation required for medical devices and the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of engineering and management.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional internal and external teammates in the mechanical software quality manufacturing supply chain and service organizations.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented to produce high quality results in a timely fashion.
- Understanding of electronic assembly fabrication and manufacturing processes with experience collaborating with contract manufacturing suppliers for new product introduction (NPI).
- Knowledge of best practices for design for manufacturing serviceability and reliability.
- Familiarity with electronic product development in a highly regulated environment.
Requirements for success in this role:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline required.
- 5 years of relevant experience in the design and manufacturing of custom electrical assemblies. Medical device experience is a plus
- Proven track record of contribution to multiple products projects and processes taken from concept to fruition.
Experience Requirements
- Senior Engineer Project Manager
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Engineering background preferred (ideally transitioned from engineering to PM).
- Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with design controls change management and multi-project environments.
- Senior Electrical Engineer
- Minimum 7 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Strong background in test engineering test development and practical hands-on work.
- Medical device experience is a plus but not mandatory.
