Electrical engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our client team in Milpitas. This role will be responsible for making critical electrical design decisions for the Client itself acquiring and conditioning customer signals and ensuring robust noise-immune hardware implementations. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable designing small circuit boards working with sensitive analog signals and troubleshooting complex electrical systems in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
- System Electrical Design
- Make architecture-level electrical decisions for Client ensuring safety reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical components into complete systems.
- Signal Acquisition & Conditioning
- Design and implement circuits to acquire analog and digital signals from customer devices under test (DUTs).
- Ensure signal integrity and noise immunity through proper filtering shielding and grounding practices.
- Hardware Development
- Design prototype and validate small circuit boards (analog front ends signal conditioning interface modules etc.).
- Work with PCB layout engineers and vendors to deliver production-ready hardware.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting
- Perform hands-on electrical debugging of systems and boards using oscilloscopes logic analyzers and other diagnostic tools.
- Support system integration by identifying and resolving electrical issues across prototypes and production units.
- Quality & Compliance
- Develop test procedures to validate electrical hardware.
- Ensure designs meet safety EMI/EMC and reliability requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred).
- 3 years of experience in hardware/electrical design preferably in instrumentation thermal systems or semiconductor equipment.
- Strong background in analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Experience with PCB design tools (e.g. Altium OrCAD KiCad).
- Proficiency with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes spectrum analyzers power supplies).
- Understanding of noise reduction techniques grounding strategies and analog signal integrity.
- Experience debugging hardware at both board and system level.
Familiarity with power electronics control systems or temperature control systems is a plus.
