Job Description

**Core Duties of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):**

As a Licensed Practical Nurse you will have several important responsibilities including:

-

**Care for Patients:** You will help provide care to different types of patients. -

**Follow Care Plans:

** You will follow instructions for patient care based on their health condition using your judgment to decide the order of tasks. It is important to recognize report and record any important patient information accurately. -

**Meet Patient Needs:** You will observe patients and respond to their needs such as giving medications and helping them with equipment. You will also educate patients and their families. -

**Administer Medications:

** You will prepare and give prescribed medications (like pills or injections) and perform treatments according to established guidelines.-

**Handle Emergencies:

** If a patient has an urgent health situation you will need to ask for help from a registered nurse (RN) or doctor (MD/DO) and provide necessary emergency care as instructed.-

**Support Diagnostic Tests:

** You will help with special medical tests or procedures. This includes preparing patients assisting during exams handling special tools and monitoring patients health before during and after the procedure.-

**Train Others:** You will help train your coworkers about unit policies procedures and practice standards.- **Promote a Healthy Work Environment:

** You will help create a good working environment that improves patient care supports patients and their families and increases job satisfaction for employees.

**Work Schedule:** You will work Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour unpaid meal break decided by the clinical department.

**Minimum Qualifications:** -

**Education:** You need to have a certificate or diploma in Practical Nursing from an approved program.- **Experience:** You should have at least one year of practical nursing experience after graduation.- **Licensure:** You must have a current and active LPN or LVN license from any U.S. state or territory.-

**Life Support Certification:

** You need to have and keep current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).-

**Security Clearance:**

You must be able to pass a government background check for security clearance.
