Our community is growing and thriving. To better serve our communities growth SOVAH Danville Emergency Department is currently under a complete renovation to better serve our patients.

The new Emergency Department will be a 31-bed unit with a 4:1 ratio for acute patients with designated behavioral health safe rooms. Our Emergency Department provides care to patients across the lifespan for all medical emergencies. We are a designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center.

We are an academic teaching site for residents medical students nurses nurse practitioners pharmacists and physician assistants.

How you will contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we are looking for

Applicants should have a current VA RN license

Bachelors degree preferred but not required

Additional requirements include:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Experience in acute care hospital preferred

American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Association (ENPC) required or within six (6) months of hire

Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Association preferred)
