Education
Required: Bachelors degree in medical technology (Clinical Laboratory Science) including completion of a clinical internship.
Credentials/Licensure
Required: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency (NCA) OR be board eligible with certification completed within one year of hire.
Related Experience
Required: None
Preferred: One (1) year of hospital laboratory experience
Skills & Abilities
Preferred:
Strong computer skills
Excellent customer service abilities
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Computer Competency
Familiarity with standard Windows-based desktop systems including:
Email and intranet tools
E-learning platforms
Navigation of lab-specific or EMR software as needed to perform essential job functions
Physical & Mental Requirements
Frequent walking standing (80% of the workday) and bending
Must be able to lift containers/boxes weighing 40 lbs
Role requires attention to detail and focus for all lab testing
Must adapt to frequent interruptions and changing priorities
2050% of the workday involves computer data entry
Must be able to pass a color vision test
