Investment Professional Tax Credits
The primary function of this role is toidentify evaluate and execute tax credit investment opportunities. This includes the underwriting and closing process managing external relationships and coordinating with internal teams to ensure investments are structured and executed in alignment with financial tax and accounting standards. A criticalcomponentof this role is the development and oversight of complex financial models that drive investment decisions and support risk assessment. The role requires detailed financial and risk analysis with a strong emphasis on GAAP and tax accounting throughout the investment lifecycle.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build andmaintaincomplex financial models to evaluate tax credit investment opportunities.

  • Support structuring efforts to align with both tax and accounting requirements.

  • Analyze deal structures tooptimizetax benefits and investor returns.

  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess risk and return profiles.

  • Assistin due diligence underwriting and closing of tax credit transactions.

  • Collaborate with internal accounting/tax partners to ensureaccuratefinancial reporting and compliance.

  • Coordinate with legal finance/accounting and asset management teams throughout the investment lifecycle.

  • Prepare internal and external reports on investment performance and tax creditutilization.

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on investment strategy.

  • Manage and oversee partner relationships with syndicators brokers developers and attorneys for the tax credit platform to drive positive investment performance.

  • Perform investment site and partner office visits to understand risks and related risk mitigation strategies and manage outcomes from those visits.

  • Conduct research and analysisonmarket and industry trends particularly in the renewable energy sector.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement improving efficiencies and process management of renewable energy investments as well as other tax credit investments.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelorsdegree with course work inAccountingand/orFinance.CPA designation preferred.

Experience: 5 years of Finance/Business related experience. 2 years of prior experience in public accounting is preferred.

Knowledge Abilities and Skills:

The Investment Professional plays a key role on a team responsible for tax credit equity investments with a specific focus on renewable energy investment tax credits. This includes relationship management negotiating management reporting risk assessment and mitigation project management sales sourcing underwriting direct or indirect management of associates and analyzing highly detailed financial and investment information.

Job Description

  • Build perform and review financial and investment analysis including reports to communicate to both internal and third-party clients.

  • Interface with team members management legal syndicators brokers and developers in managing investments from origination underwriting and closing.

  • Perform investment site and partner office visits to understand risks and related risk mitigation strategies and manage outcomes from those visits.

  • Conduct research and analysis on market and industry trends particularly in the renewable energy sector.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement improving efficiencies and process management of renewable energy investments as well as other tax credit investments.

  • Provide education guidance and support to other team members with less experience where applicable.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Asset Class Senior Investment Professional

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelors degree with course work in Accounting Finance and/or Real Estate. Masters Degree CFA or CPA designation preferred.

Experience: 6 to 10 years of investment experience with a preference for experience in renewable energy tax credits.

Knowledge Abilities and Skills:

  • Self-motivated business professional with a strong attention to detail

  • High drive for results with the ability to exercise independent judgement

  • Intellectual curiosity interest in and enthusiasm for real estate investing/renewable energy investments

  • Ability to understand complex investment structures

  • Strong computational and analytical skills

  • A diverse thinking team-oriented individual

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Creativity and critical thinking skills to handle a variety of challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a time sensitive manner

  • Proficiency in Excel required

  • Investment management project finance originations financial modeling and credit analysis and/or related business experience

  • Strong organizational skillsets

Other criteria including leadership skills competencies and experiences may take precedence.
