Description

Apt Resources is seeking a skilled Portuguese Speaking Animal Health Supervisor to join our clients team in the livestock farming sector in Angola. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary professional to lead animal health initiatives ensure welfare standards and optimize productivity across all stages of the production cycle from birth to slaughter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health Quality Management:
    • Define and implement sanitary procedures for birth rearing fattening and slaughter.
    • Monitor health data daily identify deviations and coordinate corrective actions.
    • Review and update SOPs and propose process improvements to mitigate risks.
  • Indicator Control & Reporting:
    • Track and report mortality morbidity and medicine consumption indicators.
    • Present findings and recommendations to management for performance optimization.
  • Vaccination & Treatments:
    • Plan and oversee vaccination schedules deworming and preventive treatments.
    • Manage stock of medicines and vaccines ensuring compliance with storage standards and expiry dates.
  • Training & Team Management:
    • Conduct technical training for veterinarians herdsmen and caretakers on best practices.
    • Assess team performance provide feedback and manage schedules and shifts.
    • Lead regular meetings to review goals and procedures.
  • Budget & Compliance:
    • Monitor expenditures justify variances and assist in preparing requisitions for sanitary supplies.
    • Ensure correct PPE use and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Other Duties:
    • Drive company vehicles when needed for farm operations.


Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in cattle health management (preferably beef cattle).
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Vaccination and treatment protocols
    • Sanitary indicator monitoring and reporting
    • Medicine stock management and deviation analysis
    • Driving license (categories A and B)
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Effective communication and ability to train others
    • Planning organization and results-oriented mindset
    • Proactivity and learning agility
