The Campus Communications Assistant provides direct support to the Chancellors Office and the Marketing Department by coordinating internal and external communications assisting with events and ensuring consistent messaging that reflects Ivy Techs mission and values. This role serves as a central point of contact for campus communications supporting both executive-level priorities and marketing initiatives as well as providing administrative support to both offices and the Chancellors cabinet as needed.
Pay Range: $20-$22 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week some evenings and/or weekends may be required for special events.
Location: This position is primarily located in East Chicago but frequent travel to Gary and Crown Point will be required
Major Responsibilities:
Serve as the point of contact for the Chancellors office and Marketing Department for both internal and external the absence of the Chancellor refer communications to appropriate channels as needed.
Provide primary administrative support for the Chancellor Campus Board of Trustees and Director of Digital Marketing and Social Media. May also provide secondary administrative support to members of the Chancellors cabinet.
Assist with scheduling note taking and preparing materials for Campus Board of Trustees meetings. Coordinate directly with board members for meetings events and to share relevant information.
Draft edit and distribute communications on behalf of the Chancellors Office and Marketing Department.
Assist the Marketing Department with developing content for social media including taking photos/videos during events.
Serve as a liaison between the Chancellors Office and Marketing to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
Create and follow through with purchase requisitions for department and campus needs including catering and food purchases.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Education Experience And Other Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required Associates degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support roles customer service or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite strongly preferred
