Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Travel Position

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Wausau WI. The Med Surg Nurse will provide care to patients with diverse medical and post-surgical conditions delivering high-quality patient-centered care in a hospital environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessments monitoring and implementation of treatment plans.
• Administer medications IV therapies and wound care safely and accurately.
• Monitor evaluate and document patient conditions progress and responses to treatment.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses care plans and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians specialists and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies safety protocols and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin (or compact license).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support.
• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
• Strong clinical judgment communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to a diverse and fast-paced patient environment.
