What I Will Be Doing:
As a Support Worker at Northcott Ill be working in a day program setting where my role is to help customers live as independently and confidently as possible. Ill support them in building daily living skills staying healthy and safe and keeping connected to their community.
- Ill facilitate fun and engaging group activities including art music drama and gardening.
- Ill assist with manual handling using equipment like hoists and transfer aids to ensure safety and comfort.
- Ill provide community access promoting social inclusion and organising everyday outings. Plus Ill be happy to drive a wheelchair-accessible van to get people where they need to go.
- Ill work a flexible rotating roster from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with the possibility of weekend shiftsperfect for balancing life outside of work!
- Ill collaborate closely with clinical teams families and peers to deliver positive behaviour support strategies making sure every person feels respected understood and empowered.
- Ill follow individual care plans to support specific health needs like epilepsy and wound care.
- Ill assist with mealtime support making sure customers receive meals according to mealtime management plans.
- Ill help with personal care always ensuring dignity and independence are at the forefront.
- Ill encourage and support daily living skills empowering customers to grow in confidence and independence.
