Job Summary

Substitute Health Room Assistant

Position Summary: Responsible for providing care to students and staff under the supervision and guidance of the schools registered nurse.

Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
CPR and First Aid Certification recommended
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Basic math skills required

Essential Job Functions include the following:

Provides first aid in accordance with the Health Procedure Manual
Administers medication under the supervision of the school nurse
Documents student visits care dispositions and medications administered and accidents/incidents
Performs general clerical duties as assigned by the school nurse
Maintains confidentiality of all information encountered in the scope of responsibilities
Consults with a Registered Nurse when situation is outside bounds of procedure manual or when treatment advice is necessary
Attends in-service training sessions
Provides information to parents regarding student health community resources etc. as directed by the school nurse
Performs general clinical duties as assigned trained and supervised by the school nurse
Other duties may be assigned
