As Director of Operations you will lead our manufacturing facility with a balance of people-first leadership and strategic business acumen. You will oversee a $15-20M industrial manufacturing operation specializing in filtration products with responsibility for planning and directing operational departments to ensure safety quality and productivity goals are achieved and continuously improved. The ideal candidate demonstrates a sense of urgency fosters a culture of employee development and continuous improvement and creates competitive advantage through operational excellence.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety & Compliance
- Champion workplace safety maintaining high levels of safety awareness and cleanliness throughout the facility
- Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA EEO regulations and other applicable laws
- Maintain a clean organized and efficient manufacturing environment
Quality & Production Excellence
- Drive a culture of quality through all manufacturing processes
- Implement and maintain World Class / Lean Manufacturing methodologies with measurable documented results
- Analyze sales history and projections to optimize inventory equipment utilization and staffing levels
- Ensure on-time delivery while minimizing inventory costs
- Reduce product costs through innovative manufacturing processes
- Establish realistic lead times for products in collaboration with Sales and Marketing
People Leadership
- Build and develop a high-performing engaged team through mentorship training and regular performance feedback
- Foster an employee-oriented culture that also drives business results
- Coordinate cross-training programs to ensure maximum operational flexibility
- Maintain low employee turnover through effective leadership practices
- Provide guidance to supervisory personnel in employee development and conflict resolution
Strategic Business Management
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align operations with company strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive operating procedures aligned with ISO standards
- Control manufacturing costs while meeting or exceeding budgetary goals
- Monitor variances from budget and take decisive corrective action
- Contribute to long-range business planning and capital investment decisions
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Engineering Quality and R&D to implement process improvements
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to optimize inventory levels and vendor relationships
- Work with Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction through timely delivery
- Support new product development initiatives and manufacturing process improvements
- Maintain open communication with all departments to ensure alignment with business objectives
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
- Executive Leadership: Regular strategic alignment on business objectives and performance
- Direct Reports: Daily coaching mentoring and direction-setting
- Human Resources: Partnership on talent development compliance and organizational health
- Engineering: Collaboration on process improvements and manufacturing capabilities
- Quality Control: Joint ownership of quality metrics and continuous improvement
- Accounting/Finance: Accountability for budget management and cost controls
- Supply Chain: Alignment on inventory management purchasing and vendor relations
- Research & Development: Support for new product introductions and process innovations
- Marketing & Sales: Coordination on forecasts customer requirements and market demands
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing or Business Management (MBA preferred)
- 10 years of manufacturing management experience in industrial manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience managing a $15-20M manufacturing operation
- Background in filtration manufacturing highly desired; experience with metal fabrication a significant plus
Technical Knowledge
- Expert knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement tools
- Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes especially in filtration
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for manufacturing operations
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing technology solutions
- Working knowledge of commercial agreements and contract management

Additional Requirements
- Ability to work extended hours as business needs dictate
- On-call availability for critical situations (nights weekends holidays as required)
- Occasional travel (approximately 6 times per year)
- Physical ability to move throughout manufacturing facility

Pay Range:
112000.00 - 168000.00
