Job Summary
Job Summary (List Format): Senior Data Modeler (NYC Hybrid Banking)
Must Have:
- Local to NYC (Hybrid role requirement)
- Banking industry experience (Deposits Loans Core banking applications)
- Proficient with ERWIN Data Modeling tool
- Experience with Snowflake data platform
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on data modeling using modern engineering and agile practices
- Build conceptual logical and physical data models including semantic and ontological modeling
- Gather document and publish data dictionaries
- Maintain and version control data models in data modeling environments
- Capture/derive data models from existing databases and record descriptive information
- Identify business needs organize/define data and maintain all levels of data models
- Participate in data model de-normalization ensuring business rules are maintained via alternate mechanisms (triggers application code)
- Collaborate with Application Development and Database Administration teams to create accurate data models
- Present data designs and project approaches to Data Review Board (DRB) ensuring all required artifacts are created
- Generate DDL (Data Definition Language) and validate implementation
- Identify opportunities for data reuse and reduction of redundancy across the enterprise
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8 years in data modeling (semantic logical conceptual)
- Advanced knowledge of Snowflake data modeling
- Deep understanding of banking products and data requirements
- Strong grasp of architecture and design across multiple systems
- Proficient in business analysis software development maintenance and improvement
- Familiarity with industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Ability to work effectively in large collaborative teams and foster an innovative culture
