About the role
We currently have a permanent position for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Regional Structural Engineering team looking after the Network on the Western District and up to the Near North Wide Bay Area.

Reporting to the Lead Structural Engineer Regional Structural Engineering Team as a Senior Structural Engineer you will be responsible for leading effective and commercially valuable Structural engineering solutions across the regional business and in consultation with various stakeholders contractors and suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide advanced civil engineering services to Network Regional West and achieve objectives against specified Key Performance Indicators considering scope quality performance and safety considerations and allocated budgets and timeframes to deliver valuable commercial outcomes.
  • Coordinate the development implementation maintenance and review of the long-term asset management plans.
  • Certify as a professional engineer civil engineering works and ensure that the requirements of professional practice and/or the Quality Management System are met to provide consistent output of civil engineering services and advice ensure compliance with safety operational and environmental Legislation regulations and practices.
  • Conduct engineering and technical investigations and prepare reports on asset safety condition and reliability issues.
  • Develop and implement predictive asset condition modelling tools with the below rail planning team to improve the reliability and life cycle cost of civil assets.
  • Ensure technical records condition data and incident data for the civil assets are maintained up to date in SAP.
  • Ensure professional integrity and good business approach to civil engineering products delivered to meet operational requirements and deliver valuable commercial outcomes.

What Youll Bring

A successful candidate will be a confident individual with a strong knowledge of structural design principles and relevant Australian standards who thrives in a collaborative multi-stakeholder environment. Having a proven experience in leading complex engineering work and providing technical guidance to Asset Managers Planning coordinators and project delivery ideally within rail transport or other complex infrastructure environments.

About you

Pre-employment qualifications:

If your qualification was issued overseas it will need to be a Washington Accord-recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and assessed by Engineers Australia as meeting the entry-level competency standard for professional engineers.

Travel Hours and Salary

This position requires regular travel across Western Queensland to support engineering inspections and provide technical assistance for critical defects. You must be able to travel and while hours may vary during travel periods the role operates on a standard 76-hour fortnight. The starting base salary is $143802 plus 12.75% superannuation with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
