We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Horticultural Attendant who will be responsible for performing the maintenance and burial operations at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. This cemetery consists of thirty (30) acres of land with a minimum of 12122 grave sites which will primarily serve deceased veterans and qualified dependents.Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Horticultural Attendant Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience or training in farming the care and maintenance of trees and shrubs or groundskeeping; OR
Six semester hours in a plant science or landscape field of study.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Horticultural Attendant you will be responsible for the maintenance and burial operations at the Central Louisiana Veterans this role you will:
- Perform diversified and skilled work such as maintenance and repairs to the grounds roads and cemetery plot including: mowing grass weeding trimming and pruning trees shrubs hedges planting trees shrubs and ornamental plants
- Assist other horticultural and mobile equipment operator personnel with burial and interment operations.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance to equipment to include oil changes lubrication filter changes hose changes spark plug changes proper fluid level maintenance and tire repairs of horticultural machines and irrigation systems.
- Prepare committal shelter and burial site for both in-ground and columbary interments. sets and aligns monument headstones.
- Clean culverts drains and ditches. Clean walks and driveways. Pick up trash. Moves furniture and equipment
- Perform other related duties to include veteran outreach projects as necessary.

Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
